April 19, 3:30 a.m.

Assault at the 2200 block of E. Euclid Avenue. The alleged victim was at Big Dog Billiard's playing pool for money. His opponent was losing badly, and in the end, refused to pay the $600. He reportedly choked the victim and punched him in the face, then others kicked him while he was down causing several injuries. When he got free and tried to leave, the suspect slapped him in the face. He finally left and drove himself to the hospital.

 

April 19, 1:27 a.m.

Burglary at the 3800 block of E. 14th Street. The alleged victim was at home when someone knocked on his front door. When he answered, a man entered with a knife demanding $50 or a bag of cans, which the suspect says was owed to him in exchange for the victim having consentual sex with his girlfriend. When police arrived they were both "stumbling around" outside. The woman says she had sex with the victim, but it wasn't for money. The victim denies knowing either of them. The suspect was arrested for public intoxication.

 

April 19, 4:12 a.m.

Felony eluding at the corner of S.W. 9th Street and Watrous Avenue. Police stopped a man for a broken license plate light. The man handed the officer a bunch of expired registration and insurance cards. The cop told him to find current papers while he would run the driver's license. When he turned to walk to the patrol car, the driver sped off at speeds exceeding 55 mph through residential neighborhoods. He drove through yards and down sidewalks until he finally crashed into a fence. He was removed at gunpoint and arrested. CV
