Did you make the list?
Welcome to our annual “Records
and Rankings” issue, a special
Cityview edition focused on massive
lists of local information.
We struggled to come up with
a name for this edition when we
developed it three years ago.
We liked the name “Book of Lists,”
but that was taken, and we thought
we would avoid the lawsuit. Even
so, we wanted to find a way to
compile all this great information
into one easy read with a name
that suited it. “Records and Rankings”
seemed to sum it up best.
Some of the data in this issue
is quite interesting; some you
might already know. But we think
you will find it all to be entertaining.
From most common crimes to top
paid state employees, you will
certainly find information of
interest to you.
Much of the data has changed,
mirroring our society. And, as
expected, some reads much the
same (heart disease and cancer
continue to rule as leading causes
of death in Iowa.)
Michael Swanger, Jared Curtis
and Jason Hancock spent the last
few weeks sifting through piles
of data so you could have this
unedited information at your fingertips.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the
read, and if you happened to make
one of the lists, save the phone
call, please.
